Just wanted to thank those of you who helped me out with my question about what to do with the compensation for a 24.9" guitar, and those of you who gave me tips when I had cracked my Malaysian blackwood side a while back......I ended up going with all-rosewood, and it turned out nicely. As for the compensation, I went with John Hall's tips (0.10" at the high-E), and finally finished up the guitar yesterday. Just updated my website account of the building of this guitar this afternoon. If you're interested, take a look: Taylor Cutaway Project The finished result pages start are here: Finished Product!!! Again, thanks for the help and encouragement!!!! It's good to know that you can come to this forum for help anytime you get stuck or confused!!! Now, it's time to think about school again.....sigh.... Kathy Matsushita |

I think that is a keeper. You should send that too me and I can grade it LOL Again great to see you in action. Kathy has helped so many of us in the early days and was one of the first guitar sites I visited. Her knowlege she is quick to share with anyone. A class act for sure. Had it not been for her I would never have become Blues Creek Guitars. Thanks again for all you have done. Your friend forever thanks john hall glad I could help even if it was in a small way. |

Thanks, all, for the kind words!!! I appreciate it. I've been playing the guitar throughout the day today — my fingertips are kinda sore right now!!! I haven't really played steel string for quite a while now, as I was kind of getting obsessed with the ukuleles in these past few years. So my fingertips are not tough or strong yet — I need to build up some calluses!!! I'm going to be playing a little each day to build them up. Once I get so I can play well enough to record something to put on the site (I still will have to figure out how to do that), I'll do that! Building this guitar this summer was fun, and it came out much better than I had expected... Kathy |

Just to echo what the rest have said, you have been a long term inspiration to me and the rest of the guitar building world for many years. And that guitar shows that inspiration will continue. Colin |

Kathy, "Amateur" Luthier? I think not. A few years ago I was trying to convince Kathy to drop the "amateur" out of the title of her web site. I think some of us here would agree. "part time" maybe. but I don't think "amateur" does You justice. I still love the way you document the goofs you had during a build, as well as the Fixes! Fantastic work Kathy! Wade |

Thanks for sharing Kathy. The guitar looks great! I have to echo the others sentiments and say you definitely can drop the "amateur". Keep up the excellent work! |
